While the GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) and TAN (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number) are distinct tax identifiers, there is no direct link between them to retrieve one from the other. So you ideally cannot access TAN number search by GST number. However, businesses registered under GST that deduct TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) must have both numbers.
How to Find TAN Number?
Check Official Documents: Your TAN is printed on:
TDS/TCS certificates (Form 16/16A)
Income Tax returns (ITR)
PAN card (if linked, as TAN is based on PAN)
Visit
www.incometax.gov.inand log in with your PAN (which is often linked to TAN). Navigate to "My Account > View PAN Details" to check associated TAN (if mapped).
If TAN was applied through a Chartered Accountant or employer, they may have records.
Use the
NSDL TAN Search Toolby entering your: Name (as per TAN application), and Registered address or PAN
If lost, apply for a duplicate via Form 49B on the NSDL website.
Since GSTIN and TAN serve different purposes (GST for indirect taxes, TAN for TDS), they cannot be cross-referenced directly.

How to Get TAN Number from GST Number?
My tax adviser friend said that;
TAN is a 10-character code issued to entities who are required to deduct or collect tax at source on behalf of the Income Tax Department.
It's different from the GST number, which is a unique identification number assigned to businesses registered under GST.
Since GST and TAN numbers are given by separate authorities and have different uses, you usually cannot determine the TAN number simply from the GST number.
TAN is issued by the Income Tax Department, while GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) is issued by the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN).
I hope this suffices your understanding about how to find TAN number using GST number.
Now, my friend finally said that to get TAN details, I will need to visit the
e-Filing portal, followed by clicking on “Know TAN Details” on the main page of the portal.
