How to find a good home builder?
Advert:I saw many hoardings around the city. Any builder that looked promising to me, I contacted them via the details mentioned on the hoarding. Don't fall for vibrant pictures on the website, I even spoke to a few existing customers of the builder to get a fair idea.
Internet :I also search for builders online. A quick Google search provided me with decent options. I just typed ‘developers and building agencies in my city. I considered contractors that had legit reviews and proof of work.
Recommendations :You can ask your friends or family for a suitable recommendation. If they have had a good experience with a builder, they can refer the builder to you.
When I was thinking about how to find a custom home builder, I had to decide whether I wanted to work with a specialist or a general builder. I made a list of all the qualities I wanted in a perfect builder. Some of the items were :
Someone who can give and follow commitments regarding construction.
I wanted a builder that had no previous liabilities.
Someone who has experience of more than five years.
More than that, I wanted a builder who was 100% insured, legal, and fully licensed.
