Step 1: Go to
www.incometax.gov.into access the
income tax e-filing website. Open an account and log in to e verify ITR through bank account number. Register for an account if you don't already have one.
Step 2: Select e-File>Income Tax Returns>e-Verify Returns after logging in.
Step 3: Select the 'E-verify' button on the relevant income tax return for which e-verification is necessary.
Clicking yes in the dialogue box will submit the condonation request if you are e-verifying more than 30 days after filing the return.
And next, by choosing the reason from the drop-down, enter the "Reason for Delay." If there is another justification, select "others" and then type it in the "Remarks" column.
Step 4: E-verification options will appear below. Choose the 'Through Bank Account' option under the 'Generate Electronic Verification Code (EVC)' heading. Then press the "Continue" button.
Step 5: Enter the EVC code that was sent to the email address and registered cellphone number associated with your bank account in the "Enter EVC" text box.
Step 6: The screen will show the success message "Return successfully e-verified". The Acknowledgement can be downloaded. Your registered email address will also receive this acknowledgement. Your income tax return will be successfully e-filed and e-verified.
Note: Prevalidating your bank account is required before you may create EVC.
