  • Visit the Police Clearance Services Maharashtra Police portal:

  • Next you complete the online application: fill in your full name, contact details, current and permanent address, date of birth, identity details and purpose of verification (e.g., passport, job, tenancy).

  • Then upload scanned copies of required proof: one unique document each for address proof, identity proof and date of birth proof, plus your photo and signature. You’ll also need to provide details of two neighbours (names, mobile numbers, addresses) since they may be contacted in the verification.

  • Once all details are accurate, you submit the application; you receive an acknowledgement number and payment receipt.

  • Within about 3 to 5 days you must visit your local police station with the original documents and the payment receipt to present them for physical verification. The police then carry out background checks (they may visit your residence, contact your neighbours).

  • After that the verification report is prepared. Once the report is cleared, you are eligible to download the certificate online or collect it in person from the designated office, depending on the local arrangement.

To download the certificate: go back to the PCS MahaOnline portal, login with your credentials, and navigate to the section for certificate issuance/download. If your verification is complete and the status shows “Clear”, you should see an option to download the PDF of the certificate.

In some cases you may instead be told to collect the hard copy from the police station. The timelines given are roughly 30 to 45 working days from submission to certificate issue, though actual time may vary.
