IMPS is an instant interbank electronic fund transfer service initially started through mobile phones and is now extended to ATMs and net banking. If you’re looking to transfer money through SBI IMPS, you’ll require the Aadhaar number or account number and the IFSC code of the recipient. You can also make payments via IMPS using a mobile number and MMID (Mobile Money Identification Number):
Process to Transfer Funds using SBI IMPS with MMID?
Log in to the SBI’s official website using your credentials
After that, tap on ‘Payments Transfer’ and then on 'Fund Transfer' as you go to 'IMPS Funds Transfer'.
After that, tap on the 'Person to Person' button.
Now, enter the mobile number and MMID.
Enter the amount that you want to transfer.
Verify all the info and tap on ‘Confirm’.
Finally, approve the transaction using the mobile-based OTP authentication.

How to Obtain MMID for IMPS of SBI?
It is a seven-digit number used for transferring funds through IMPS mode from one account to another through net banking or mobile banking. Several ways to obtain MMID:
When you visit the SBI bank branch to open an SBI account, you can ask the officials for mobile banking registration and get an MMID number for receiving and making payments.
MMID can also be generated by logging in to your SBI mobile banking account.
You can also generate the MMID number by calling the customer care team of SBI.
You can also obtain MMID through an
ATM
. For this, just swipe your SBI card, go for mobile registration and complete all the required steps.
