Let me tell you that it’s difficult to find a curtain rod long enough to cover an entire wall. Therefore, you can use an electrical conduit to create your own rods. Let me tell you how to cover entire wall with curtains.
How to Hang Full Wall CurtainsUse a measuring tape to measure the width and length of the wall space you want to cover. Measure the length from ceiling to floor if you want to cover the entire wall.
Join 10 feet lengths of conduit with set-screw conduit couplings until you achieve the desired length of the rod. You can take the help of a hacksaw to trim excess conduit if required. Use a screwdriver for tightening the couplings.
Keep the curtain rod against the wall on the floor, right below where you want to install it. You will be using the rod later as a reference point to position the conduit clamps.
Use a pencil to mark a small Z to specify where the clamps will be affixed. The Z will be kept on the ceiling at the 2 corners where the ceiling and wall meet. Now use anchor screws and drill to attach 1 clamp onto the Z in every corner. The clamps feature a shape of a horseshoe; the horseshoe’s top screws into the ceiling and the clamp arms will be hanging down. This will allow the rod to slip in between the arms.
Use a tape measure to situate the centre of the rod. Measure the rod’s length and divide by 2 to locate the centre point. Measure from one end of the rod to the centre point and keep a masking tape piece on the rod as a marker.
Lift the rod and hold it against the wall where the ceiling and wall meet. You can take the help of a family member or friend for this. Mark the point on the ceiling where the centre tape touches the ceiling. Here, you’ll install the centre conduit clamp. Follow the procedure in Step 4 to install it.
Hang your beautiful curtains onto the curtain rod.
Press the rod into the conduit clamp arms and tighten the clamp arms with the help of a screwdriver.
