Hey Rashni. We were frustrated with termites in our home and after trying a lot of different methods, we were able to figure out how to control termites at home. Out of everything, using essential oils worked really well for us. You can use neem or orange oil as remedies for termites. You can just sprinkle a few drops of these oils at the spots where termites are present. There are more methods which you can try.
You can prevent termites by applying termite-resistant paints and coatings on wooden surfaces.
Spray salt and water solution on the infested area. Salt will dehydrate the termites and kill them without much trouble.
Make a solution of white vinegar and lemon juice with water. Grab a half cup of water and add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Spray this on and around the termite infestation.

- Vinegar
Vinegar has antibacterial properties, but did you know it can help you get rid of termites? Well, it works wonderfully with a cup of lemon juice! I sprayed it on my mattress every day and it killed termites instantly.
- Borates
I use borate powder for laundry. My mother suggested that I sprinkle the borax powder on my mattress to get rid of the termites. The results were good!
Even though these are good tips on how to control termites at home, I couldn't get rid of termites in my home. They were all over my cupboard, desks, and cabinets.
