Hi,
Tax-saving fixed deposits have a lock-in period of 5 years. No premature withdrawals, loans, or overdraft facilities are available against tax-saving FDs. After 5 years, you may close it through your home branch only. In case of the death of the depositor, the legal heir of the depositor may prematurely close it through the home branch only.
