A few simple steps will help you close the AC vent. However, locate the ceiling vent and see if it has a manual damper before proceeding.
- Manually Closing the Vent -
If your AC vent has a manual damper, then you can shut off the vent by rotating the damper with a long screwdriver or a small rod.
- Shut off the Vent with a Magnetic Damper -
You can purchase this damper and position it over the vent opening to block it. If you don’t get a magnetic damper, then place a plastic sheet or a furniture piece.
