You can make it a monthly or weekly habit of cleaning your plastic windows. I’d say, the more frequently you clean, the less effort it will take. So, here are some ways you can clean the windows.

1. To clean the window frames, you just need to take a brush and wipe the dust from it. Then, take a cloth, damp it with warm water, and clean the frame.

2. For cleaning of the glass, you can either use a glass cleaner or a normal detergent solution. It’s usually recommended to clean them 4-8 times annually.

3. In case of maintenance, I’d suggest inspecting your windows every 6-8 months for any stiff hinges. If you find any stiffness, immediately lubricate them.

4. For extra care, I clean the windows with soapy water every twice a year. This helps me maintain the shine.

5. Another tip I would give is, don’t scrub too harshly. You should always use a soft sponge or a cloth, rather than using abrasive materials.

• First I arranged a bucket, warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge. I did not use harsh chemicals to prevent damage.

• I filled the bucket with warm water and added a few drops of mild dish soap. I mixed it gently to create a soapy solution.

• Then I dipped the soft sponge into the soapy water and wrung it out slightly. I wiped down the plastic windows using gentle, circular motions. 

• Once I cleaned the entire surface, I rinsed it with clean water. I used a clean sponge in plain water for this step.

• Then I used a squeegee to remove excess water and prevent water spots. I further finished it off by gently rubbing a dry cloth to achieve a clear finish.

I use a homemade solution to clean the window. The mix isn’t harmful, which ensures there is no adverse effect on the window. 

• Start by mixing warm water and vinegar. Here, the proportion of water to vinegar should be 4:1. 

• While the mixture is still warm, apply it over the window with the help of either a spray bottle or a rag. 

• Let the mixture sit on the window for a while. This helps in removing the dirt and grime build up from the window. 

• You can then wipe the mixture off the window with a clean and dry cloth. The cloth should be soft, which you mainly use for cleaning a pair of eyeglasses. 

• Be gentle with the cloth, and do not apply too much pressure as it poses a threat of smudging the window.
