Like you, two weeks ago, I also wanted to clean my Faber chimney filter since grease, oil, and dirt had accumulated. Instead of waiting for servicing, I planned to do it myself with household goods. So, I researched how to clean faber chimney filter at home. I found household items, such as vinegar, baking soda, and dishwashing liquid, work best for cleaning the Faber filter. I have shared the detailed steps I followed.

Faber Chimney How to Clean the Filters?

  1. Switch off and unplug the chimney.

  2. After that, unlock or unscrew the filter to carefully remove it from the chimney.

  3. Now, combine lukewarm water with vinegar.

  4. Dip a paper towel or tissue into the vinegar solution.

  5. Just give the surfaces a quick wipe.

  6. Give it a few minutes to sit.

  7. You must now wipe again with a paper towel soaked in plain water.

  8. Allow the filter to air-dry entirely.

  9. Place the dry filter back into the chimney and ensure it is securely attached in place.

I tried this process and it really worked. You can also try the steps shared by Naval here.

But, ensure you clean a chimney filter at least twice a month. It makes the chimney perform more efficiently, keeps the kitchen smoke-free, and increases the appliance's lifespan.

The Chimney filter is one of the most important parts of the chimney. If the chimney filter is not cleaned properly, then a lot of dust can find its way there. I have recently cleaned my chimney filter so let me share the detailed steps on how to clean faber chimney filter at home.

Faber Chimney How to Clean the Filters?

The tools needed to clean chimney filters are vinegar dishwashing soda and baking soda. When cleaning the filters and meshes, you must follow the below steps:

  • First take out a big container to put all these parts in it.

  • Then put two cups of vinegar into the tub.

  • The next step is to sprinkle salt and baking soda on the vinegar. This will give a solution, you need to add hot water to it.

  • Allow the filter to rest in this solution for a couple of hours.

  • Rinse them in freshwater later and give them a good wipe. You can use dishwashing liquid to clean the filters too.

  • Get the dishwashing liquid all around the filter and give it a gentle scrub.

  • Then put hot water in a large tub and insert the filters into it.

  • Keep the filters in the tub for 2 hours.

  • Take the filters out and scrub them with a soft scrubber to remove grease.

  • Finally wash the filters in clean water and allow them to dry.

I hope this easy and quick process helps you to clean faber chimney filter at home.
