To clean dusty books and shelves, first remove every book from one shelf at a time. Recently, I struggled with the stacks of dusty books and shelves in my kid’s study room. The dust made the space appear dull, and it wasn't good for allergies either. So, I looked for how to clean dusty books and shelves at home. Here is what I found.
How to Clean Dusty Bookshelves?
Take each book down and gently remove dust with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
Dust the surface as you move from the top shelf to the bottom using your feather duster or microfiber cloth.
Sweep any dust from difficult-to-reach nooks and crannies with your soft brush.
Wipe the area with a microfiber cloth that is lightly moistened with warm water and diluted dish soap.
Now dry it with a clean towel.
Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to clean directly around the shelves.
Once the books and shelves have dried, position the books vertically with tiny gaps for air circulation.
I tried this hack and it actually works. If you have extreme dust, it’s best to hire a professional cleaning staff.
