Before selecting a bathroom vanity, measure your area and take your plumbing into consideration. I struggled with how to choose a bathroom vanity during my bathroom renovation. It became overwhelming because there were so many alternatives. So, before purchasing one, I asked an interior designer to learn what mattered most. This is what I learned.

How to Choose the Right Size Bathroom Vanity?

  1. Identify your bathroom space and requirements.

    • The number of persons who will use the restroom must be taken into account.

    • Measure the width, depth, and available wall space of your bathroom first.

    • Plan the placement of the vanity based on your plumbing.

  2. Find out your vanity style. Whether you choose traditional or modern bathroom decor will determine this. In either case, you have countless possibilities for color and style.

  3. Choose the vanity type that best fits your bathroom and your requirements.

    • Single Sink Bath Vanities:

Maximise storage and are best for both small and large bathrooms.

    • Double Sink Vanities:

      Best for shared bathroom.

    • Wall-Mounted or Floating Vanities:

Trendy and perfect for compact bathrooms.

    • Freestanding Vanities:

Merge versatility and nostalgic appeal to create a classic appearance.

    • Corner Bath Vanities:

Excellent for tight spaces where full-size models cannot fit.

  4. Choose the vanity size.

    • The majority of vanities range in width from 24" to 60".

    • The depth of most vanities ranges from 17 to 24 inches.

    • Standard height vanities (30" to 32") are commonly used in guest bathrooms. Comfort height vanities (up to 36" high) are often selected for master bathrooms.

  5. Choose materials that can withstand dampness, such as PVC, marine plywood, or solid wood with laminate.

  6. Select the right countertop. Granite, quartz, marble, and solid surfaces are among the options.

  7. Finally, think about what you must store. Options include cupboards for larger items, open shelves for easy access, and drawers for makeup.

As it requires proper knowledge, I left it to the interior designer to select the perfect vanity for my bathroom. This is all about how to choose a bathroom vanity.
