Before telling you how to check if builder has applied for OC, I will share with you the definition of Occupancy Certificate (OC).

Occupancy Certificate or OC states that the construction of the building is in compliance with the approved plans. The Occupancy Certificate is issued by the local municipal authorities or building proposal departments after the construction of the building is completed and it is ready to be occupied. 

How to check the builder has applied for OC?

If you have a temporary OC, you should ask your builder for a permanent one. Regularly follow up on the timelines provided by the builder. 

If your builder is not responding you can go to the court and file a complaint. You can reach out to your State’s RERA consumer court.

If you are not able to find the ‘Completion details’ you can assume that the project has not been granted OC.
