How to Measure Switch Current?
Switch Off Power: Prior to connecting the multimeter, always turn off the main power source.

Connect the Probes: Place the black probe in "COM" and the red probe in "A."
Connect in Series: To measure current flow, connect probes to the circuit in series.

You can determine whether current is actually passing through the switchboard by correctly following these steps. After connecting the probes in series, turning on the circuit will display a numerical reading in Amperes (A) on a digital multimeter. While 0 A shows no current, which could be the result of a fault, an open circuit, or the switch being off, any reading above 0 A indicates current flowing.
When the needle of an analog multimeter moves, current is flowing; when it does not, current is not flowing.
