Changing your name in a land document as a converted person in Kerala involves a specific process that requires official documentation and adherence to prescribed guidelines. It can be done online through the e-Gazette portal of the Kerala government.  I will tell you how can I change my name in land records in Kerala.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to proceed:

  1. Before you begin the online process, ensure you have the following documents ready:

    a. Conversion Certificate: A copy of your officially issued conversion certificate.

    b. Old Land Document: A digital copy of the existing land document bearing your previous name.

    c. Identity Proof: Scanned copies of valid identity proofs such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, or voter ID.

  2. Visit the e-Gazette portal of the Kerala government (

    https://egazette.kerala.gov.in/

). Click on the "New User Registration" link and create an account using your personal details and a valid email address.

  3. Once you have an account, log in and navigate to the "Private Advertisements" section. Click on the "Name Change" option and select the "Land Document" category.

  4. Fill in the online application form with the required details.

  5. Upload the scanned copies of your conversion certificate, old land document, and identity proofs.

  6. Proceed to the payment gateway and pay the applicable fees for publishing the name change advertisement in the Kerala Gazette.

  7. Once the payment is complete, submit the application form and documents.

  8. If the documents are valid and the application is complete, the e-Gazette authorities will approve your request and publish the name change advertisement in the Kerala Gazette.

  9. Upon approval, contact the Sub-Registrar's Office in your area to update your name in the land document. Provide them with a printed or digital copy of the published advertisement and your conversion certificate.

  10. The Sub-Registrar's Office will verify the advertisement and your conversion certificate and issue a new land document bearing your new name. The old land document will be cancelled.

Remember to keep copies of all submitted documents and the published advertisement for future reference. If you encounter any issues during the online process, you can contact the e-Gazette support team for assistance.

Now you know how to change name in land registry in Kerala.
