Start by going to the
Official CESC Website.On the home page, scroll down and you will find the Digital Services section. Under this, click the Online Name Change option.
On your screen, the online name change form will open up.
First, select whether you want to do a general name change or if this is a spouse of a deceased consumer requesting a name change.
Then, enter your 11 digit customer ID, followed by your email ID and mobile number.
Click the Submit button.
Now you need to fill in and submit Annexure A1 and Annexure A2 if the registered consumer is alive.
If the registered consumer is deceased, then submit Annexure A1 and Annexure A3 (declaration).

Submit your application along with the documents.
There is no upfront fee, but a fresh security deposit needs to be paid online by the new applicant.
The old security deposit is refunded to the previous consumer after the change is processed.
List of Documents to Change Name in CESC
Applicant’s ID: Aadhaar or Voter ID or Passport or Driving License.
Existing Consumer’s ID, same as above.
Name and address of 2 witnesses.
For government alloted flats, an allotment letter date for which Annexure A2 is not needed.
Death Certificate, if applicable.
If you have a commercial supply, a trade license from KMC or the municipality is needed.
If you have an industrial supply, you need a clearance certificate from the WB Pollution Control Board.
