Summary
To change a false ceiling light bulb, first turn off the power at the breaker and carefully remove the light panel (if any). Check the bulb or LED driver to see what needs to be replaced. Now, unscrew the bulb with your fingers. If you are unable to unscrew the bulb by hand, turn the duct tape clockwise. Next, use a pair of needle-nosed pliers and remove the broken LED bulb. Securely install the new light and ensure proper wiring and fittings. Also, tighten the clips and put the wires back into the ceiling. Finally, before finishing the job, test the connection.

Here is how to change false ceiling light safely and easily. But, before you begin, go to your electrical panel and turn off the MCB or main switch. Only turning off the wall switch is insufficient. To be extra cautious, run a voltage tester on the old fixture to confirm the power is fully off. After that, follow these steps for changing an LED with a screwable bulb in the false ceiling:

  • Before replacing the lightbulb in the ceiling, allow it to cool fully.

  • Usually, it is challenging to grab and unscrew the smooth surface of LED bulbs. You can press two or three fingertips firmly against the lens and rotate your palm to the left to manually unscrew it.

  • Tear off a strip of duct tape and fold it into a loop if this doesn't work.

  • To utilise the loop as a handle, press it onto the lens.

  • Now, start loosening the bulb by grabbing the duct tape loop and firmly twisting it counterclockwise.

  • Keep rotating it to the left until you've completely unscrewed the LED bulb.

  • Pop on a pair of gloves and use needle-nosed pliers to grab the broken bulb.

  • If a separate adapter is included with your new light, screw it into the ceiling socket.

  • Attach the cables from the new fixture to the wires from the ceiling.

  • Match the color and reinstall the wires in the ceiling box.

  • Now, reinstall the spring clips on the new light in the ceiling.

  • Screw it in until the bulb feels snug. You can take out your suction tool or peel off the duct tape.

  • Install bulbs or covers that came with the new fixture.

  • Finally, to test the connection, turn on the light bulb of your false ceiling.

This is all about how to change light bulb in false ceiling.
