How to change Email address in PAN Card?

To change your mobile number and email address, you can follow these two methods.

Method 1: Change Pan card Mobile number and Email ID

• Go to the Pan Card online application gateway at:

  https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/

• Select "change or correction in existing Pan" under Application Type, and then choose "Individual" under Category.

• Enter your new mobile number, email address, and the necessary information now. Click submit.

• Your token number will be produced on the following screen; take note of it.

• On the following screen, choose "Submit digitally through eKYC and eSign option" and then decide whether a physical ID card is necessary by choosing Yes or No. Type the Aadhaar card number here.

• Check the box next to "Telephone number & Email ID Details" after filling out all essential personal information with an asterisk (*). Enter your updated email addresses. Submit the declaration form.

• Use a credit card, debit card, or net banking to complete your online payment.

• You must now authenticate your Aadhaar card using the OTP that was sent to the mobile number associated with your Aadhaar.

• Your update request will be sent after your Aadhaar number has been verified.

How to update Email ID in PAN Card?

Method 2: Update Mobile & Email ID through Income tax website

Through the Income Tax website, holders of Pan cards can also update/change their mobile number and email address.

• Log into your account at the

  official income tax website

  . Please register with your Pan number if you are not already a member.

• Enter your User ID and login password to log into your account. 

• Once logged in, select My Profile.

• Click the Edit button under the Profile section.

• Enter your new email address and mobile number now, then click "Save."

• Your Pan card's mobile number and email address have been updated.

I requested someone close to me apply for my PAN card, but by mistake, he inserted his email address. I requested him to modify it, but he had no idea how to do it. After doing some online research on how to change email in PAN card online, I discovered that it is a straightforward procedure. 

Steps for PAN Card email ID change

I tried the procedure stated above by Pavan Sharma, however, I found it to be extremely confusing. So, I followed the steps as mentioned below:

• Go to

• Tap on Correction / Lost PAN.

• Choose 'Individual' under the Category.

• Mention the PAN Card number.

• Tap the checkbox available near email ID to update it.

• Mention all the other required details including the applicant’s name, date of birth, residence address, new email ID, and so on.

• Select the type of address, identity, and age proof documents.

• Finally, tap the Submit button and make the required payment.

The request made for changing the email ID will be accepted and changed in the system once all the information has been validated. I immediately did my PAN Card mail ID change by following the procedures described above.
