I love plants but my busy schedule does not let me take care of them properly. I decided to buy some easy maintenance plants, and that is when I bought the pothos or money plant. It's okay if you do not know how to take care of a pothos plant. I also did not know much about it so I asked the seller to guide me. I noted down all the details so let me share them with you here.

How to Take Care of a Pothos?

Pothos or money plant, is a common house plant. It is believed that this plant brings good luck, prosperity, and positive energy to the house. These plants are used as feng shuis as well. Let me now share how to take care of pothos plant indoor:

Watering:

Water your pothos every 1-2 weeks and allow the soil to dry out before watering again. If the leaves turn yellow or the stems turn black, it denotes overwatering, and if the plant wilts and their potting mux dries out, it denotes underwatering.

Humidity:

Pothos grow well in humid environments so aim for 50-70% humidity in the place where the plant is kept.

Sunlight:

Pathos cannot stand direct sunlight so keep it in a partial shade or in a bright but indirect sunlight reaching area.

If you are wondering how to take care of golden pothos plant, let me tell you that mine is a golden pathos too. I was instructed to keep the plant in a medium to low light area.

As a plant parent, I can tell you that Pothos or Epipremnum Aureum is one of those plants that can be taken care of very easily and requires very little maintenance. Before sharing Pothos plant care, I’ll tell you that the name of this plant comes from Pothos Aureus, which is a genus under which Pothos is classified. Different kinds of Pothos plants come under this classification like the yellow variegation; the lime-green Pothos Neon; and the Pothos Marble Queen, featuring deeper green and white variegation.

How to care for a Pothos plant?

The Pothos plant is a great indoor plant because it is quite helpful in filtering out gaseous toxins from the air inside our homes. Let me tell you more about Pothos care indoor.

  • Pothos plant should be placed in a bright area with medium to low amounts of indirect sunlight. They thrive the best in homes that are north-facing and during the winter season with short days. I must tell you that this plant is not very suitable for direct sunlight because it may burn the leaves of the plant and turn it brown.

  • I would suggest you water your Pothos plant every 1-2 weeks. You need to give the plant soil ample time to dry out. If you keep the plant in brighter light, water it more often and if the plant is kept in lower light, you can choose to plant it less often.

  • If I tell you about the amount of humidity that this plant requires 50-70% of humidity. It can, however, tolerate normal to dry air as well.

  • You should keep the Pothos plant between 65°F-85°F range (18°C-30°C). You can also keep the plant at a cooler temperature but I would suggest you not go below 60°F (15°C).

I think this is all you need to know about Pothos plant care.
