   • For walls, multiply each wall's length by its height, then add the results. 

   • Add the area of each of the room's four walls. 

   • For exteriors, double the house's perimeter by the roofline's height.

2. Specify the painting work type.

   • Like, after cleaning, repainting could only need one coat. 

   • On the other hand, a fresh paint job requires putty, primer, and two coats.

3. Choose your paint type and look at the paint can's coverage per liter.

4. Divide the total surface area by the paint coverage per liter. 

5. Then, multiply by the number of coats you'll apply to get the total liters required.

6. Multiply the total amount of paint required by the price per liter.

7. The labor rate per square foot is multiplied by the total paintable area. Depending on the location and complexity of the task, the labor cost per square foot for painting might vary from Rs. 8 to Rs. 12.

8. Remember to set aside money for priming, brushes, rollers, tape, and any other supplies you'll need.

9. Finally, for a final quote, add the cost of paint, labor, and additional materials.

3. Most spaces require at least two coats for the desired finish. Multiply the paint quantity by the number of coats.

4. Multiply the total liters of paint needed by its price.

5. If hiring professionals include labor costs and additional materials like primer, brushes, or rollers, add those to get the ultimate cost.

To calculate the cost of painting, you can use the following formula: 

Paint Cost= ((Surface Area/Coverage Area of Paint) x Number of Coats x Paint Price) 

For example, to calculate the painting cost for my 500 sq. ft. room, I noted that the paint covers 100 sq. ft. per liter. Two coats meant 10 liters of paint, which I multiplied by the paint price. Adding labor gave me the final estimate. This is all about how to calculate painting cost.
