Early in the morning, I used to get very annoyed with the bright sunlight coming through my windows and falling on my bed. It used to wake me up and restrict me from getting enough sleep. I decided to block the sunlight and googled for some tips on how to block sunlight without curtains. Not all of them worked but a few of them did. How to block light from windows without curtains?
Curtains are definitely a great way to block sunlight but other than that, you can also block sunlight from entering your room in other ways like:
Apply window film or tint to the glass to reduce the amount of light entering the room while maintaining visibility.
Install horizontal or vertical blinds that can be adjusted to control the amount of light.
Use interior shutters that can be closed to block out light completely.
Apply frosted glass or privacy film to obscure the view and reduce incoming light.
Use decorative window decals or stickers that block some light while adding style to your windows.
Hang sheer or gauzy fabrics over the windows for a softer light-filtering effect.
Install window shades, such as roller or Roman shades, which can be pulled down to block light when needed.
Place temporary options like cardboard, foam board, or aluminium foil on the windows for a quick light blockage.
Position potted plants strategically to partially block the light and add a natural touch to your space.
Arrange bookshelves or large furniture pieces in front of windows to reduce incoming light.
