How to Attach Plywood to Plywood?
Here is the procedure you can follow to fix plywood to plywood:
Arrange the plywoods and buff them to remove any debris or sand.
Pick the right kind of glue. I recommend using aliphatic wood glue because of its ease of usage and cleaning and high strength.
If you have interior-grade plywood or particle board, go for urea-formaldehyde glue.
Use a brush or roller and spread the glue on one of the surfaces thin and evenly. Avoid applying excess glue as it may weaken the joints.
Clap the glued pieces together and apply even pressure across the entire joint. Use sufficient clamps to ensure there’s no gap left in between.
After the glue has been set, pick the right size of nails. Take a hammer or a nail gun and drive the nail into the plywood. Leave 6 to 8 inches of gap for each nail. Ensure the nails are at the surface level so they don’t protrude.
Wipe the glue stains using a damp cloth before they dry out completely.
After the glue cures and the surfaces are joined together, sand the joints and surfaces with a fine-grit sandpaper.
Apply a finish of your choice.
