The basic steps on how to apply for BESCOM connection involves application submission, documentation, inspection, fees, and approval before your connection is activated. The detailed steps are provided below for your reference.

How Can I Apply for BESCOM Connection?

  • You can apply online via the official BESCOM portal (

    https://www.bescom.co.in/bescom/auth/forms

), or offline at your nearest BESCOM Sub-Division/Customer Service Centre.

  • Whether online or offline, you must complete the official new connection application form. Online forms let you enter personal details, property address, and load requirements; offline forms are available at BESCOM offices.

  • After submission, pay the application fee, service charges, and refundable security deposit based on your load requirement. These fees vary by load type, phase (single/three), and whether it’s temporary or permanent connection.

  • BESCOM will dispatch an engineer to inspect the premises, wiring, and proposed connection point. This inspection ensures safety compliance before meter installation.

  • Once approved, BESCOM will install your meter and issue the connection.

Typical documents include:

  • Photo ID & Address Proof (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, Driving License).

  • Property Ownership or Occupancy Proof (Sale Deed, Khata, Property Tax Receipt, Rental Agreement).

  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the owner if you are a tenant.

  • Electrical wiring completion certificate signed by a licensed electrician (for permanent connections).

  • Load details & wiring plan for the flat.

Previously, Occupancy Certificate (OC)/Completion Certificate (CC) was mandatory; NOC/ownership proof is key.

This can take 7 to 30 working days depending on documentation completeness, OC status, and inspection timeline. After installation, your meter is activated, and you begin receiving BESCOM electricity bills in your name.
