A cross cheque is a cheque that is crossed with two parallel lines. This means that the cheque could only be deposited straightaway into a bank account. This type of cheque, however, cannot be cashed instantly.
You need not apply for it separately. You can simply draw cross lines on your ordinary cheque and that will be considered a cross cheque only. However, I would still ask you to consult about it with your bank’s officials.
