He painted a base coat in the color I specified. Be sure to evenly cover the wood's entire surface.
Before proceeding to the following step, allow the paint to completely dry.
In places like corners and edges where wear and tear occurred, he used the darker paint.
He created a distressed look by carefully blending the darker paint into the base coat using a dry brush.
Allow it to completely dry before gently distressing the wood's surface with sandpaper.
Finally, seal and preserve the antiqued wood by applying a clear protective finish.
