To add a name to a property document, you will need to follow these steps:
Firstly, you will need to submit an affidavit mentioning the current name, the new name, current address, and reason for changing. It should be signed by 2 gazetted officers (along with the stamp).
Then, you will have to advertise the change of name in a local leading daily newspaper containing your new name, old name, DOB, husband’s name or father’s name, and home address.
Finally, you will have to get a notification published in the Gazette of India.
