As far as I know, you can file a petition for the letter of administration only after 14 days of the death. Plus, after receiving the application for a letter of administration, the court issues the notice in the newspaper or sends a notification to all legal heirs. If no one raises any objection within 45 days, the petition gets approved and the order is passed in the favor of the petitioner. So, I think the entire process can take two to three months.
