I am planning to make kitchen cabinets using plywood. To understand how much plywood do I need for kitchen cabinets, I did thorough research. During that process, I found a simple calculation method to estimate plywood requirements. The amount of plywood needed mainly depends on the dimensions of the kitchen cabinets. Based on this, I have shared a rough calculation below to help you get a better understanding.
How Much Plywood for Cabinets?
To figure out how many plywood sheets you will need, divide the total area you want to cover by the size of one plywood sheet. Usually, a standard 4×8 sheet covers 32 square feet.
For example, if your total area is 800 square feet:
800 ÷ 32 = 25 sheets
It’s smart to order a few extra sheets to account for cutting waste or unusable pieces. A good rule is to add 10% to your total area and then round up to the next full sheet when placing your order.
