How Much Paint Do I Need for Four Walls?
To know the amount of paint needed, let us consider that each wall is 10 feet and the height of the walls is 8 feet.
Now, we have to calculate the area of one wall, which is:
Area = Length and Breadth = 10 x 8 = 80 sq. ft.
Now, the area of 4 walls would be = 80 sq. ft. x 4 = 320 sq. ft.
Let us consider the surface area of each window, and the door is 15 sq ft., and 20 sq. ft., respectively. So, the area which is not covered by paint = 20 sq. ft. + 15 sq. ft. = 35 sq. ft.
So this will make the total paintable surface = 320 sq. ft. - 35 sq. ft. = 285 sq. ft.
As a general rule, the 1 litre of paint covers 130 sq. ft. So, the amount of paint needed for 4 walls would be = 285/ 130 = 2.192 Litres.
This is the amount needed for 4 walls, but with this, you can only add one coat of paint. You can multiply this number by the number of coats that you want to add to get the exact amount.
