Modern dishwashers in general use 24 kWh of electricity every month. Here is some information that might help you with how much electricity does a dishwasher use per month:

  1. People usually think that dishwashers use up a lot of electricity, but this isn’t the case.

  2. If you talk about modern dishwashers of good, reliable brands, they are pretty energy efficient.

  3. So, you can take around 0.8 kWh of electricity usage per load, depending on the washing programme to heat up, pump and recycle the water in the machine.

Now, let me help you understand how I said 24 kWh, taking 0.8 Kwh as the per load electricity consumption and considering you use the machine only once a day, we multiply 0.8 by 30, i.e. the days in a month, so 0.8 x 30 gives us 24 kWh per month.

In case you use the dishwasher twice a day and we take the average of 0.8 kWh per load, the electricity consumption would be 48 kWh per month.

Factors Affecting Electricity Consumed by Dishwasher

  1. Power Rating: The power rating of the dishwasher, or the star rating as you would better recall, determines how energy efficient the machine is. The more the number of stars, the more energy efficiency, lesser the electricity consumption overall.

  2. Cycle Length: Another direct influencer of energy consumption is the cycle length.. A longer wash cycle will have the machine running for a longer time, directly increasing the energy consumption.

This is all. Hope this helps.
