According to my knowledge, a flight of stairs in a typical residence with 8-foot walls has between 13-15 steps. 15–17 stairs are required for a home with 9' ceilings. With 10' ceilings, 17–19 stairs are required. A minimum of 12 stairs are required in every home (11 stair and 1 landing). Two-story home has 24 steps (23 stairs and 1 landing). This applies to any number of floors.
