How to Remove Paneling Without Damage?
Let me first tell you a few materials you will need to remove the panels. I saw the professional using a hammer, pry bar, utility knife, putty knife, sandpaper, heat gun, and also plastic sheets. Here are some steps I saw him follow.
He wore safety goggles, gloves, and a dust mask. It’s important to protect the eyes from dust.
Then, he used the putty knife to pry the edges off the panel. This is done to create an opening where you can loosen the panel.
After loosening the panel, he detached it carefully with the help of a heat gun. Once the adhesive was softened, he used the putty knife to remove the panel.
After detaching, he used sandpaper to sand the surface properly. I learned this is important to smoothen the wall after scraping. Then, you can cleanse the walls.
After sanding, he installed the new panelling.
