First of all, if you have a lease agreement then the landlord is in no position to increase the rent in your lease time. But if you have a rental agreement the landlord may ask you to hike your rent. You can try convincing your landlord, however, the chances are quite low. If you have a good relationship with your landlord, at times, he/she might even consider it. But again, the chances are very low.
