Hi everyone, my sister has been staying in Malaysia and recently got a new number. She called me and asked, how can NRI update mobile number in Aadhar card? To help her, I researched and found she would need to visit an Aadhaar enrolment centre and fill out the correction form to change her mobile number in her Aadhar. I have shared all the detailed processes I informed her about.
How to Update Mobile Number in Aadhar Card for NRI?
Here’s the process I came across to update your mobile number in Aadhaar as an NRI:
You must visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.
Fill out the Aadhaar update correction form.
Complete the biometric verification at the centre to authenticate your details.
You must now submit the form to the Aadhaar executive along with the required service charge.
After submission, you will receive an acknowledgment slip with an Update Request Number.
These are the steps I informed my sister and asked her to follow. For NRIs, if you provide a non-Indian mobile number, you won’t receive any SMS to text messages. The only valid proof of identity (POI) for NRIs is a valid Indian passport. I hope this will help you.
