Summary
A lot of modern car carriers use GPS-enabled trucks and then they share live location through the app or a web link. A few companies provide an online portal where you can log in with your booking ID to see status updates like “picked up”, “in transit”, etc. If live tracking isn’t provided by the company, you get periodic SMS/WhatsApp/Phone updates from the transporter or the driver of the truck. You can also place your own plug-and-play GPS tracker in your vehicle before handing over the vehicle to the transporter.

Hey, there are a lot of different ways for packers and movers tracking for your vehicle. Now, the exact method differs based on the packer and mover you have chosen for your vehicle shifting.

  1. A lot of modern car carriers use GPS-enabled trucks and then they share live location through the app or a web link. With the help of these, you can see the current location and the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of your vehicle in real time.

  2. A few companies provide an online portal where you can log in with your booking ID to see status updates like “picked up”, “in transit”, etc.

  3. If live tracking isn’t provided by the company, you get periodic SMS/WhatsApp/Phone updates from the transporter or the driver of the truck about the current status of the move and if there are any possible delays.

  4. In case the mover doesn’t provide a means to track the vehicle, you can place your own plug and play GPS tracker in your vehicle before handing over the vehicle to the transporter.

I would recommend that before you finalise the booking, ask the packer and mover clearly whether they provide real time GPS tracking or an online tracking link of the movement or not. Also ask them about the frequency, i.e. in how much duration do they share updates.

Apart from all this, also confirm who will be your single point of contact and ask for their contact information. Also, ask what you just do if tracking stops updating or the vehicle is delayed beyond the promised window.
