I recently shifted to a 1 BHK flat in Bangalore and I have rented a few furniture, so in my opinion, it’s the best option if you’re looking for a short-term investment and do not wish to stay in the same place for the long run. But if you really ask me, should I take furniture on rent or buy it, I’d say it totally depends on what your goals are.
Renting Vs Buying Furniture: Which is Better?
Whether you should rent or buy completely depends on your choice, budget, and goals. I personally do not have a long term plan in settling in this flat so I preferred to rent the furniture. It’s also a cheaper option than buying. Here are some things you should consider before making a renting vs buying decision.
Why Should You Rent?
Renting might be the best option for you if
You’re looking for an affordable costing option. You do not wish to spend a hefty amount of money and get the best ones at a low cost.
You want to keep things as flexible as possible. If you rent furniture, you have the option to switch them when things get boring or your style upgrades. Buying might not give you the same option.
You’re staying in your flat/apartment for a temporary period and do not wish to invest in things you might not need later.
Why Should You Buy?
Unlike me, you should consider buying furniture if
You plan to settle down and make the flat your home for the long run.
You wish to make it more personalised and have a few dream home decor ideas.
I hope this helps you decide whether you should rent furniture or buy it.
