Last monsoon, I observed that the old iron on our balcony grill had begun to rust excessively, especially around the welded seams. I applied it on every part of the grill, but particularly the places where the rusting was most severe.

Asian Paints Apcolite Rust Shield is an iron rust proof paint. Before applying the topcoat, apply Apcolite Rust Shield as a spot treatment directly, without diluting it, to badly corroded areas, sharp edges, and welded seams.
Following a 6 to 8 hour drying period, I applied three coats of Rust Shield (again, without dilution).
Although the procedure took some time, it was worthwhile. Currently, there is no indication of rust, even after the rains. This paint is excellent for protecting ironwork, especially when it's outdoor.

Galvanization :The process entails iron being covered with another metal such as zinc. This ends up forming a protective layer on the furniture. This process is also called zinc-plating.
