At my home, I have laminate floors, and many people ask, can you use water on laminate floors? I informed the best way to clean them is by using products made especially for laminate. If you don’t have a laminate floor cleaner, you can mix one teaspoon of unscented clear dish soap or baby shampoo in a gallon of water. I have shared the full cleaning steps with you below.

How can I Clean Laminate Floors with Water?

  1. If you don’t have a special cleaner, mix 1 teaspoon of clear, unscented dish soap or baby shampoo in 1 bucket of water.

  2. Never pour too much water. Laminate floors don’t like excess moisture.

  3. You can use a laminate floor mop made from microfiber. These mops need very little water.

  4. After mopping, always go over the floor with a dry microfiber cloth to remove any leftover moisture.

  5. For deep cleaning, you can use a steam mop, but only once in a while and very lightly.

  6. Dry the floor right after using it.

Never use wax or polish. Laminate floors don’t need it, and it can damage the surface. This is how you can clean laminate floors using water. I hope this helps you.
