Hello there. I can share can we apply Asian Paints SmartCare without applying wall putty or not. So, the answer is no, you can’t use the Asian Paints SmartCare without using wall putty. We used the same product for waterproofing our terrace and forgot to bring putty, so we looked to see if skipping the putty was possible. That is when we got this answer. There is a reason for it.
Why you can’t Apply SmartCare without Putty?
See, the product SmartCare Hydroloc isn’t an undercoat. It has to be used as a pre-putty waterproofing coating. After the application of the product, you need to apply a coat of putty and follow it up with primer and top coat. You can use cement putty or waterproofing putty. Avoid using local putties like lambi putty.
Precautions to Take While Applying SmartCare
There are some precautions which you must take while applying the SmartCare product:
Use joint tapes at all joints and corners for better reinforcement of horizontal surfaces.
Don’t apply during rain or extreme temperatures.
Apply the product at least 6 inches inside the drain pipe.
Apply coating on the parapet walls as well.
