I have recently got my doors changed with the help of a carpenter. I observed the process on how to change doors in house, he performed, so sharing it here.
Measure the current door and frame to make sure the new door fits.
Place the new door in the frame, mark where it needs trimming, and cut it to fit.
Put the old door on top of the new one to mark hinge spots and other features.
Mark where the hinges will go on the new door using the old door as a guide.
Trace around the hinges where they’ll sit on the door.
Now, carefully chisel out space for the hinges.
Place the hinges in the spaces and tap them lightly until they fit.
If adding a lock, use a jig to drill holes for it.
Drill holes for the latch and lever in the marked spot.
Use a chisel to carve out space for the latch plate.
Fit the latch and lever into their holes and secure them.
Finally, screw the hinges into the doorframe, and your door is ready.
It is a very difficult task to do this. It is better to hire a carpenter to get your door changed.
