No, a tenant cannot terminate the agreement anytime. There is a provision called lock-in period. A tenant can only notify when the lock-in period ends. However, if the agreement does not mention any specific lock-in period and the tenant and the owner mutually agree, the tenant may notify the owner with a notice period of one month.

But sometimes,

there are practical reasons for termination of agreement sometimes. .e.g. transfer to another city, etc. In that case, you can mutually decide with your owner for early termination of the agreement. However, if the owner disagrees, the security deposit may either be deducted by a portion of wholly.
