Yes, a jointly held property can be gifted to the other joint holder through a gift deed.
When a property is jointly held, both have their own rights over the property. In the same way, the ownership is transferred jointly through a gift deed. But the gift deed must be registered, and signed by the donor, donee and two witnesses.
