To answer your query: Are gas rates going up? I’d like to say Yes! As per a press conference, the oil minister has stated that the price of LPG has gone up by Rs. 50 since April 8. Gas prices increased for PMUY users from Rs. 500 to Rs. 550, and for non-PMUY beneficiaries from Rs. 803 to Rs. 853.

Are Home Gas Prices Going Up?

Yes! The home gas price has gone up to Rs. 50 per cylinder. In particular, a 14.2 kg home LPG cylinder now costs Rs. 50 more. The price now stands at Rs. 853.00. Additionally, the price of the commercial 19kg LPG cylinder has been changed; in certain places, it has increased by Rs. 100.50.

Also, as per the official press release, the government raised the excise tax on diesel and petrol by Rs. 2 each.

I hope this helps you answer your query: are gas prices likely to rise.
