Summary
No, bathroom sink taps in India do not all have the same size. They come in a variety of sizes and styles depending on the sink type, available space, tap type, brand, and design. The standard faucet holes in basins are 35 mm in diameter. However, the standard waste (drain) hole size is 32 mm, and bigger basins may utilise 40 mm. To ensure optimal performance and minimise splashing, always match the tap type (single-hole, wall-mounted, or mixer) or size to your washbasin.

No, not all bathroom sink taps are the same size. Bathroom taps come in a variety of designs and sizes, both in terms of neck height and spout length. However, most follow standard sizes, making installation easier.

In India, faucet holes in basins are typically 1 3/8 inches (35 mm) in diameter. The standard waste (drain) hole size is 1 1/4 inches (32 mm). However, bigger basins may utilise 1 1/2 inches (40 mm).

Factors Influencing Bathroom Sink Tap Size

  • Sink Adaptability

The shape and size of your basin are the most important considerations. Like, a tall mixer tap may be required for a countertop basin, whilst a compact wall mixer is ideal for a wall-mounted basin.

  • Design

Modern designs if you see differ in height, spout length, and handle type (knob, lever, sensor). Luxurious designs might be large and spectacular, whereas minimalist patterns might be small.

  • Type of Sink

Different tap sizes are needed for different basins. Countertop basins are ideally combined with tall taps or wall-mounted taps. It requires taller taps. But if you look at Wall-hung basins, they use standard-height taps. It can be used with wall mixer taps or single-lever taps.

Pedestal basins can be utilised with a central mixer tap or pillar taps. Your basin style significantly determines tap height, reach, and fitting size.

  • Tap Types

The number and spacing of holes needed depend on the type of faucet you wish to install. Single-hole faucets are most frequent in modern basins and employ the standard 35 mm hole.

But three holes are needed for common faucets: two for the handles and one for the spout. Usually, they were separated by 6 to 15 inches.

  • Brand You Choose

The base sizes, spout lengths, and cartridge diameters of brands such as Jaquar, Kohler, Hindware, and Grohe vary.

Hope this helps you.
