About PM Vishwakarma Yojana

PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a central government scheme under the Ministry of MSME with a budget of ₹13,000 crores over 5 years (2023-24 to 2027-28). It was launched on September 17, 2023 (Vishwakarma Jayanti) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The scheme supports artisans and craftsmen in 18 traditional trades including carpentry, blacksmithing, pottery, tailoring, goldsmithing and masonry. Benefits include:

  • Collateral-free loans up to ₹3 lakh at 5% subsidised interest (in two tranches: ₹1 lakh first, then ₹2 lakh after repayment)
  • ₹15,000 toolkit e-voucher issued after skill assessment
  • Basic training (5 to 7 days) and advanced training (15 days) with a stipend of ₹500 per day paid via DBT
  • PM Vishwakarma Certificate and Digital ID for official recognition
  • Market access support through branding, online marketplace listing and trade fair exposure
  • Incentives for adopting digital payment methods

As of October 2025, over 2.72 crore applications have been submitted and more than 30 lakh artisans have been successfully registered across all Indian states. West Bengal, the latest state to join, began active enrollment in May 2026.

Registration is done only through Common Service Centres (CSC) with Aadhaar biometric verification. The official portal pmvishwakarma.gov.in is used for login, status check and certificate download only, not for new registrations.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Last Date 2026: Is There a Deadline?

PM Vishwakarma Yojana has no specific last date for registration in 2026. The scheme has been sanctioned for 5 years from 2023-24 to 2027-28. Artisans can visit any Common Service Centre (CSC) and register at any time during this period. There is no closing deadline, no phase-wise last date, and no annual cut-off.

However, benefits such as training slots, toolkit vouchers and loan disbursement are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis at the district level. Districts with high registration volumes may experience longer waiting times for training and loan processing. Registering earlier gives better access to these benefits.

If you are eligible, do not wait for a "last date announcement." Visit your nearest CSC and register now. The registration process is completely free.

Key Benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana

1. PM Vishwakarma Certificate and Digital ID

Every registered beneficiary receives an official PM Vishwakarma Certificate and a Digital ID Card with a unique identification number. This certificate provides formal recognition as a Vishwakarma artisan and is required to access all other scheme benefits including toolkit, training and loan.

2. Skill Training with Daily Stipend

  • Basic Training: 5 to 7 days at a training centre near the artisan's location
  • Advanced Training: 15 days or more for artisans who want to upgrade further
  • Stipend: ₹500 per day paid via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) after completion of training
  • Training covers both traditional skill improvement and modern techniques relevant to the artisan's trade

3. Toolkit E-Voucher of ₹15,000

An e-voucher worth up to ₹15,000 is issued after the skill assessment at the start of basic training. The voucher can be used to purchase modern tools from registered vendors only. To find a registered vendor near you, use the Vendor Locator on the pmvishwakarma.gov.in portal.

4. Collateral-Free Loan up to ₹3 Lakh at 5% Interest

The loan is disbursed in two tranches:

TrancheAmountRepayment TenureCondition
FirstUp to ₹1 lakh18 monthsAvailable after registration and training
SecondUp to ₹2 lakh30 monthsAvailable only if first tranche repayment is on track (standard account) AND the artisan has adopted digital transactions or completed advanced training

The interest rate is 5% (concessional). The government pays the remaining interest to the bank through interest subvention. The loan is guaranteed by CGTMSE (Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises) so no collateral or guarantor is needed from the artisan.

5. Digital Transaction Incentive

Artisans who accept payments via UPI receive an incentive of ₹1 per digital transaction, capped at 100 transactions per month (maximum ₹100 per month). This encourages artisans to adopt digital payment methods and helps them build a verifiable transaction history for future credit access.

6. Marketing and Market Access Support

  • Quality certification for the artisan's products through designated agencies
  • Branding support including logo, packaging and product labelling guidance
  • Listing on e-commerce platforms including the Government e-Marketplace (GeM)
  • Exposure to national and international trade fairs and exhibitions
  • These services help artisans move from local markets to a wider customer base
