The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has announced a city-wide water supply cut for 24 hours on June 4th, 2024, due to essential maintenance work on the Cauvery 5th Stage project. This disruption will affect all areas of Bengaluru as the board undertakes work at six different sites.

The water supply will be shut down in two phases:

  • Phase 1: From 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on June 4th, there will be no water supply from the Cauvery 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stages.
  • Phase 2: From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on June 4th, the water supply will be completely halted in the 1st and 2nd phases of the Cauvery 4th stage.

The BWSSB urges residents to store sufficient water for the 24-hour period and cooperate with the board as they work to improve the city's water supply infrastructure.

Residents are advised to:

  • Store water in advance: Fill up all available containers like tanks, buckets, and drums to ensure they have enough water for the day.
  • Plan accordingly: Schedule activities that require water around the disruption period.
  • Inform others: Share this information with neighbors and family members who may not be aware of the water cut.

The BWSSB apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this disruption and appreciates the public's understanding.
